BI flags of the great Indian road trip (K2K - Kochi to Kashmir) aimed to spread the message of suicide prevention by International cricketer Tinu Yohannan. The road trip was flagged off at Kochi and passed through various centres like Prateeksha Kozhikode, Connecting-Pune, Saath-Ahmedabad, and Sumaitri-New Delhi. The team was warmly welcomed by Prateeksha and Thanal. And thereafter on reaching Ahmedabad the team was welcomed by Saath at M G Science College on 28th August 2018. An artist called Arpita staged a performance and students of M G Science College also welcomed the K2K team.
Cooj - Goa celebrated the whole month from 10th Sep to 10th Oct 2018 and tied up with live love laugh foundation to promote mental health awareness in schools in Goa.
Thanal - Kozhikode, conducted a seminar at town hall Calicut highlighting women suicide in Kerala.
Saath in collaboration with Astitva Art foundation celebrated a 3 day festival from 8th to 10th Sep 2018 where presentations were made by Anju and Nishmin.
Lifeline Kolkata had an awareness programme at Ravindra Sarovar for morning walkers around 30 volunteers distributed more than 3000 book marks having life line nos. to people from 6.30 to 9 a.m.
Sneha - Chennai -Dr. Laxmi conducted media workshop on how to report suicide on WSPD.
Roshni in collaboration with Lake Police conducted a road show portraying relationship followed by a candle light vigil.
Jeevan conducted a rally with school children and performed nukkad-natak on suicide prevention and 300 pamphlets of Jeevan were distributed.
Maithri along with NGO Chairtram conducted training on how to ventilate emotional trauma due to flood. Rajesh was also featured in programme called Samuhyapadam on suicide prevention.
Samaritan Mumbai conducted a walk-a-thon and street play at Kandivali East.
G school of commerce invited Saath where Nagesh secretary BI addressed the gathering of about 130 students and talked about suicide prevention awareness.
BI was invited for the launch of IIT tech fest (annual science and technology festival of IIT Mumbai) at Mumbai. This festival has a patronage of UNESCO, UNICEF, Start-up India, Digital India with the social media of outreach of 3.2 million. The tech fest addressed the issue of Depression and Suicidal tendencies of youth of India. Secretary BI Nagesh spoke about the services provided by BI centres and also participated in a panel discussion and Q & A session with around 500 IIT students. 2000 colleges across India collabred with Befrienders India for conducting workshops by volunteers/mentors of various centers
Befrienders India organized a charity musical show at Town hall to raise funds for BI. An amount of around Rs. 2 lacs were collected from various donors
